Insurance for franchise operators

Multi-unit operators of national brands: quick service, pizza, chicken, coffee and sandwiches. Built to your franchise agreement, priced for your store count, and ready for the next opening.

What's different

Your franchisor sets the floor

The agreement comes first

Your franchise agreement sets minimum limits, names the franchisor as an Additional insured and puts certificate deadlines on the calendar. We read it before we read your policies.

Payroll is the big number

Hundreds of hourly employees make workers' comp and employment practices the lines that drive your premium. Your Experience mod and your wage and hour exposure matter more than anything else.

Drive-thru, delivery and new stores

Delivery drivers in their own cars, openings mid-term, and build-outs that need coverage before the ribbon is cut.

Brand programs

Where your brand's insurance program fits

Some franchisors offer a preferred program, and a few require one for certain lines. We read your agreement and tell you plainly which lines you can place where, and where USI fits.

  • Equipment breakdown on fryers, ovens and refrigeration

Have questions?

Franchise operators ask us

Our franchisor has a preferred program. Can we still work with you?

Often, yes. Some brands require their program for certain lines and leave the rest open; others only recommend one. We read your agreement and tell you which lines you can place where.

We open two or three stores a year. How does that work?

Your program is built to add a location with one call: the address, the opening date and the build-out value. Nothing restarts, and the premium is pro-rated.

Can you handle certificates for the franchisor and the landlords?

Yes. Certificates go out the same day in most cases, and we track the renewal dates your agreements require.
